Service Description

This 6-week series of consecutive weekly classes in pottery making will teach 2 to 4 beginners everything they need to know about the fundamentals of clay and pottery wheel-throwing techniques - with customized consecutive start/end times & dates to meet your needs (min. of 2 registrants required). Students will learn how to make the three basic types of wheel-thrown pottery forms including cylinders, bowls, and plates. Various methods of decoration including slip painting, sgraffito, carving, and glazing will also be explored in this class, designed for persons with little or no experience in ceramic art. Class fee includes use of studio tools, clay, glazes, and firing, plus up to 4 hours per week of optional practice time during "Open Studio" sessions from Noon to 4 pm on Saturdays, or Tuesdays 5-9pm.
