Service Description

6-WEEK SESSION: This series features 6 consecutive weekly classes in pottery making on Tuesdays from 4 pm to 6pm, ages 8 to 18. Beginners will learn everything they need to know about the fundamentals of clay and pottery wheel-throwing techniques. Students will learn how to make the three basic types of wheel-thrown pottery forms including cylinders, bowls, and plates. Various decoration methods including slip painting, sgraffito, carving, and glazing will also be explored in this class, designed for persons with little or no experience in ceramic art. Class fee includes use of studio tools, equipment, clay, glazes, and firing. Optional practice time includes "Open Studio" sessions on Mondays (5-7pm) or Saturdays (2-4pm). Instructor: Polly Beach
